We Uphold Industry Standards for Water Damage Experts

Our technicians are friendly, dedicated pros who have been certified by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC). The IICRC is an independent body that sets industry standards and promotes ethical conduct.

Don't make the mistake of calling someone such as a franchised carpet cleaning company to take care of flooding. They don't have the expertise to assess water damage, mold growth or biohazards or to handle mold removal and decontamination. As a result, you might replace a water problem with a mold or bacteria problem. Our Goodbye Water technicians use the latest professional products to eliminate odor and retard bacteria, mold, mildew growth as part of our water damage restoration. That's another reason other professionals like plumbers, property managers, realtors and insurance agents recommend us to their clients.

Inspection and Assessment

Our job begins by carefully inspecting the affected area and determining the extent to which contents and structure have absorbed moisture. We use sensors and meters to take precise readings that help us plan your water removal, water damage restoration and mold, mildew control.

Water Extraction

An emergency water removal job begins with water extraction using high-powered pumps, both manual and truck-mounted, and vacuums. Water damages materials in two ways—by direct contact and by absorption of moisture in the air.

Once we've removed the water, we use high-velocity air movers and industrial-strength dehumidifiers to eliminate water vapor in the area.

Mold, Mildew Control

After we extract the water, we detail clean the area using special portable vacuum cleaners with HEPA filters. Air scrubbers filter mold, dust and other contaminants from the air and recirculate clean air. Then we begin the drying process. Powerful fans called air movers redirect moisture into the air; industrial dehumidifiers remove moisture from the air. Instruments check humidity readings daily.

Next, we treat the area using a 100-percent green disinfectant to check the growth of harmful mold, suppress mildew and eliminate any odor. We use Benefact, an organic product that is 99.9 percent effective against mold and mildew. Its active ingredient is oil of thyme.

Drying

After we've pumped the water out, we seal the affected areas from the outside air to expedite the drying process. We'll rotate our high-powered air movers to meet changing conditions. We regularly read the temperature, relative and specific humidity and moisture content.

Checklist

Before we consider the job done, Goodbye Water technicians go through the premises with a detailed checklist to make sure you're back to normal. Our work is not complete until humidity levels are normal again. And we'll leave you with a care token in appreciation for your business.

Restoration

We work with a network of water damage restoration specialists. They can restore or replace drywall, baseboards, hardwood flooring, carpeting, insulation and other structural elements if you need them.

Flood Prevention Tip

  • Have your drains checked by a professional plumber every five years.
  • Check washing machine hoses frequently, and look for potential leaks.
  • Check your roof annually for any signs of trouble.

Water Damage "Don'ts":

  • Don't remove water with an ordinary household vacuum cleaner. It can be dangerous.
  • When standing on wet carpet or floors, don't use electrical appliances.
  • If the electricity is still on, don’t enter rooms where there is standing water; it could carry a shock.
